Paddy Pimblett delivered a commanding performance at UFC 314, securing his ninth consecutive victory and firmly establishing himself as a rising force in the lightweight division. #UFC314 #UFC #PaddyPimblett

Facing off against Michael Chandler in Miami, the British fighter overwhelmed the former Bellator champion with relentless pressure, culminating in a third-round stoppage. Although the opening round was relatively competitive—Chandler managed a slick takedown and controlled portions of the fight—momentum shifted drastically in the second round. Pimblett began dictating the pace both on his feet and on the mat, in what former UFC champion Henry Cejudo described as Pimblett’s best round to date.

The final round sealed the deal. Pimblett opened Chandler up with a vicious knee and pursued him around the Octagon until the referee was forced to step in and stop the fight.

“We executed the plan,” Pimblett declared post-fight. “We used our fight IQ, stayed sharp, and battered whoever was in front of us.”

Riding high off the victory, Pimblett called out several top contenders, including Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Charles Oliveira—ultimately singling out Oliveira as his next preferred challenge. “Everyone laughed when I said I’d make it to the top,” he said. “Well, who’s laughing now?”

As for Chandler, his UFC record continues to slip, now standing at 2-5, with only wins over Dan Hooker and Tony Ferguson. Once considered a top-tier prospect upon entering the UFC, Chandler’s title aspirations now seem more distant than ever.

UFC 314: Jean Silva Submits Bryce Mitchell in Heated Grudge Match

| April 12, 2025

Jean Silva let his performance do the talking at UFC 314, submitting Bryce Mitchell in the second round of a fight that was surrounded by intense controversy.

The buildup to this featherweight clash was anything but ordinary. Mitchell faced widespread backlash in recent weeks after publicly expressing disturbing admiration for Adolf Hitler during a podcast appearance. Despite issuing a later apology, the comments drew condemnation from fans, fighters, and even UFC CEO Dana White—who nonetheless allowed the fight to proceed.

In the Octagon, Silva made quick work of Mitchell. After nearly securing a guillotine in the first round, Silva kept the pressure high in the second, eventually locking in a ninja choke that forced Mitchell to tap. Once the referee separated them, Silva leaned over his unconscious opponent and shouted in victory.

Throughout the bout, Mitchell refused to touch gloves, which Silva addressed in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. “I thought it was just hype at first,” Silva said, “but now I realize that’s who he really is. Something’s clearly wrong with the guy.”

The Miami crowd, largely in support of Mitchell, responded loudly during the match, chanting “U-S-A.” High-profile attendees—including Donald Trump and Elon Musk—added another layer of spectacle to the night.

Silva used his post-fight moment to call for a future matchup with fellow Brazilian Diego Lopes, who was scheduled to headline the card.

Though Silva’s win will be remembered for its dominance, the drama surrounding Mitchell continues to cast a long shadow, with many questioning the UFC’s decision to let him compete at all. Click here to Subscribe to our YouTube channel
